Privacy Policy

Updated 9 October 2026

Neon Focus is a product by Neimprom. This policy covers the Android app, this website, and the cloud account and subscription service as each feature becomes available. Live billing is currently disabled while testing is completed.

Data on your device

App limits, usage totals, Strict Mode topics, session timelines, saved app icons, break balances, schedules, alarms and preferences are stored locally. Screen-time history depends on records retained by Android. Study Files reads the photos, videos and documents covered by permissions you grant; these files are not uploaded to our billing backend. Selected background photos are copied into app-private storage. Clearing app data removes local records.

Google sign-in and cloud billing

When cloud sign-in becomes available, Google and Supabase authenticate your account. Google may share your account identifier, name, email and profile picture with the authentication service. We do not request Gmail inbox access. Supabase stores account identifiers, server-issued trial dates, subscription identifiers and statuses, and verified payment periods. Razorpay processes payment methods and recurring mandates; Neon Focus does not collect card security codes, UPI PINs or banking passwords.

A keyed hash of the Google account identifier records trial eligibility separately from the app installation. Reinstalling or changing your phone clock does not restart a cloud trial. This pseudonymous anti-abuse record is retained while the trial program operates and is reviewed when an account-deletion request is handled. Subscription/payment records may be retained where required for accounting, disputes or legal obligations. Contact us for the retention applicable to your account.

Accessibility and Usage Access

With permission, Accessibility observes foreground app/window identity, relevant controls, player layout and visible content metadata to implement focus restrictions, dismiss unsupported windows and recognize short-form viewers. YouTube education checks may inspect visible video titles, channel names and other exposed metadata; browser study checks may inspect the visible domain. This is different from the optional pixel-based screen-safety feature. Messaging restrictions use editor roles and keyboard presence. The app is not designed to save or upload messages, passwords or typed chat content. Usage Access reads app activity locally to calculate usage and enforce selected limits. Your installed-app list and session usage history are not sent to the payment service.

Video classification and optional models

Local rules and downloadable on-device models can help distinguish educational content. Optional YouTube metadata verification, once configured, sends the video identifier and authenticated API request through our backend to Google's YouTube Data API; it does not upload your screen recording. Model and media downloads use HTTPS. Download hosts receive ordinary connection information such as IP address. Model classification is probabilistic and can make mistakes. The availability of local, API and model-assisted checks depends on the installed version and downloaded resources.

Screen safety and VPN

Optional screen safety requires Android MediaProjection consent. Capturable frames are classified in device memory and discarded; they are not recorded or uploaded to our server. Secure or excluded screens may not be inspected. Android's capture controls remain available. A DNS-based local VPN applies domain rules and may forward DNS queries to Cloudflare DNS. Website contents are not decrypted. Strict Mode can apply a separate study-domain policy. Other VPNs, encrypted DNS, cached addresses and device restrictions can affect enforcement.

Other permissions

New selfie-based alarm verification is under development and is not active in the public build. Its data handling and consent will be disclosed before it is enabled.

Website and providers

The website is being migrated to Cloudflare hosting. Supabase hosts account data, APIs and downloadable resources; Razorpay supplies payments; Google supplies authentication and optional YouTube metadata. GitHub may continue to host versioned downloadable assets. These providers process connection and security information under their policies. The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts. No advertising SDK or behavioural advertising is included. We do not sell personal information.

Security and your choices

Network connections use HTTPS. Cloud payment records are restricted to their account owner, and trusted server code controls trial and paid access. No system can promise perfect security. You can manage permissions through Android Settings, delete local app data, and request cloud account deletion by emailing us from your registered account. We verify account ownership. Uninstalling does not cancel a recurring payment mandate; cancel the subscription separately. Do not send passwords, OTPs or full payment-card details to support.

Children and updates

Children should use the app with a parent or guardian's involvement, and an adult must authorize purchases where required. We do not knowingly seek children's payment credentials. Material changes to data handling will be reflected in this policy and, where required, explained in the app.
